The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court (FHC), Justice John Tsoho, has announced an immediate redeployment of some judges to different divisions of the court.
According to a statement released by the FHC’s Director of Information, Catherine Oby Christopher, the changes involve Justice M. G. Umar moving from Enugu to Abuja, and Justice Tijjani Garba Ringim transferring from Gombe to Yola.
Additionally, Justice M. T. Segun-Bello has been moved from Abakaliki to Enugu, Justice Bala Khalifa-Mohammed Usman from Yola to Awka, and Justice Amina Aliyu Mohammed from Awka to Gombe.
The statement instructed the affected judges to prioritize delivering all outstanding judgments in their current locations as quickly as possible.
It also noted that judges in Abakaliki and Katsina will handle all existing and new cases in their divisions until further notice.
Furthermore, the public was informed that all cases pending in Court No. 5 of the Abuja Judicial Division will be handled by the judge newly assigned to Abuja, eliminating the need for lawyers or litigants to request case reassignment from the Chief Judge.
