What Transpired When Obi, Fayemi Approached Tinubu At Pope’s Inauguration

President Bola Tinubu, Labour Party’s Peter Obi, and ex-Ekiti governor Kayode Fayemi all attended Pope Leo XIV’s installation mass in Rome on Sunday.

Fayemi, upon seeing President Tinubu, who was seated with other world leaders, invited Obi to join him in paying respects.

When they approached the President, Fayemi initiated the conversation, saying: “Mr. President, welcome to our church, and thank you for honouring the Pope with your presence.”

President Tinubu humorously replied: “I should be the one welcoming you and Peter. I’m the Head of the Nigerian Delegation.”

The President’s response cracked up Obi, who agreed, saying: “Yes, indeed. We are members of your delegation.”

Both Obi and Fayemi are devout Catholics and Papal knights.
