What Transpired When Tinubu Arrived Pope Leo XIV’s Inauguration Mass In Rome [VIDEO]

President Bola Tinubu attended the installation mass in Rome, Italy, on Sunday, marking the beginning of Pope Leo XIV’s pontificate as the 267th Bishop of Rome and the new leader of the Roman Catholic Church.

A video from the Nigerian Television Authority showed Tinubu’s arrival at the Pope’s inaugural mass.

Tinubu’s presence in Rome was in response to an invitation from Pope Leo XIV, conveyed by Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican’s Secretary of State.

Upon arrival at the Mario De Bernardo Military Airport on Saturday, Tinubu was received by Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and officials from Vatican City and the Nigerian Embassy.

The president’s delegation included prominent Nigerian religious leaders such as Archbishop Lucius Ugorji, Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama, Archbishop Alfred Martins, and Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah.

During the installation mass, Pope Leo XIV delivered a homily emphasizing the need to protect nature and support the marginalized.

He called for the Church to be a force for positive change in a world marked by division and hatred, addressing dignitaries including US Vice President Vance and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
