7 Inmates Escape From Ilesa Custodial Centre – Official

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has initiated a search for seven inmates who escaped from the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Ilesa, Osun State.

The escape occurred after heavy rainfall damaged the facility’s perimeter wall.

Abubakar Umar, the NCoS spokesman, stated on Tuesday in Abuja that the Controller General of the NCoS, Sylvester Nwakuche, has ordered an immediate investigation into the incident.

Umar confirmed that the NCoS is collaborating with other security agencies and community leaders to recapture the escaped inmates.

He affirmed the NCoS’s commitment to returning the escapees to custody and to reinforcing the facility’s security.

The NCoS urges the public to provide any credible information that could assist in the recapture efforts.

They can be reached on the NCoS Response Desk lines: 07087086005, 09060004598, and 08075050006, or by contacting the nearest security agency.
