Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has praised the work of Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, indicating that Tijani will retain his ministerial position if a proposed coalition succeeds in removing President Tinubu from office in 2027.
El-Rufai explicitly stated, “We will still keep Bosun Tijani because he is doing good work.”
El-Rufai made these remarks on Wednesday at the second Arewa Tech Fest in Katsina, an event he organized to promote technological innovation in northern Nigeria.

The festival brings together startups, investors, tech professionals, and policy leaders, and Minister Tijani delivered the keynote address.
El-Rufai apologized for his late arrival, attributing it to a crucial “coalition meeting” held the previous evening aimed at ousting President Tinubu.
“They (the organising team) had to come without me because yesterday (Tuesday) at 8pm there was a very important meeting of the coalition we’re putting together to ensure that President Tinubu goes back to Lagos,” he explained.
He clarified that the meeting’s late timing meant he couldn’t fly into Katsina until Wednesday morning as the airport doesn’t operate after 8 pm.
El-Rufai is a prominent figure among opposition politicians actively working to form a broad coalition of political parties to unseat President Tinubu in 2027.
His political allegiance reportedly shifted in March, when he left the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
