Tinubu Hails Amaechi As A Prominent Politician At 60

President Bola Tinubu has extended his birthday wishes to Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, the former Minister of Transportation, as he celebrates his 60th birthday on May 27, 2025.

In a statement issued Tuesday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), Tinubu described Amaechi as a “prominent politician” and commended him for his dedicated service, particularly to Rivers State, where he served as both Speaker and a two-term governor.

The President highlighted Amaechi’s “invaluable contributions to Rivers State as a former speaker and two-term governor, saying he dedicatedly served the state,” according to the statement.

Tinubu also recalled that during his tenure as governor, Amaechi rose to become Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, a position that underscored his significant influence in national politics.

President Tinubu further acknowledged Amaechi’s eight years of service as Minister of Transportation under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

As Amaechi turns 60, Tinubu extended his best wishes for the future, praying for “more years and God’s grace for the former minister and wishes him well in his political career.”
