What Transpired When Ganduje, APC North-East Chairman Endorsed Tinubu Without Shettima [VIDEO]

A meeting of All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in the North-East erupted in chaos on Sunday in Gombe State.

The disturbance began when Comrade Mustapha Salihu, the APC National Vice Chairman for the North-East, failed to mention Vice-President Kashim Shettima’s name while endorsing President Bola Tinubu for a second term.

The meeting saw the attendance of nearly all ministers, lawmakers, and governors from the party in the region, with APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje also present.

When Salihu spoke, he endorsed Tinubu as an unopposed candidate but remained silent about Shettima.

Immediately after his speech, delegates at the forum reportedly began insulting Salihu, with some threatening physical harm.

Security operatives had to escort him out of the meeting.

To de-escalate the situation, the party’s Deputy National Chairman, Bukar Dalori, then endorsed both Tinubu and Shettima for a second term.

However, the meeting concluded abruptly after National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje also endorsed only Tinubu, omitting Shettima’s name throughout his approximately 10-minute speech.

Ganduje, too, had to be escorted from the venue by security personnel. It’s noteworthy that Vice-President Shettima hails from Borno, a state within the North-East region.
