In Nasarawa State, the High Court in Lafia has sentenced Oluwatimileyin Ajayi to death by hanging for the murder of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Salome Adaidu.
Justice Simon Aboki delivered the judgment, finding the 32-year-old Ajayi guilty of culpable homicide, a charge contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria and punishable by death.
The victim, 24-year-old Salome Adaidu, was a Corps member serving at Nicon Insurance in Abuja before her death.

She was allegedly murdered when she visited the suspect at his home in the Papalana area of New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area of the state.
Ajayi was apprehended on Sunday, January 12, 2025, while reportedly attempting to dispose of Adaidu’s head after killing and dismembering her body.
Police also displayed the knife and machetes allegedly used in the crime during his parade.
