APC Fixes Date For NEC Meeting To Replace Ganduje

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has scheduled its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting for July 24, 2025, to nominate a new substantive National Chairman for the party.

Following an emergency meeting at the party’s national secretariat on Monday, the National Working Committee (NWC), led by Deputy National Secretary Festus Fuanter, announced that the upcoming NEC meeting will facilitate the selection of a new chairman.

Fuanter added that a formal notice for the NEC meeting has been sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Meanwhile, Ali Bukar Dalori officially assumed duty as the party’s Acting National Chairman on Monday.

Dalori, who previously served as the Deputy National Chairman (North), stepped into the acting role after Abdullahi Ganduje resigned as National Chairman.

Ganduje, from the North-West zone, had taken over leadership in August 2023 following the the resignation of his predecessor, Abdullahi Adamu, from the North-Central.

Dalori assured party members of his commitment to his new role, promising transparency, inclusiveness, and a focus on unity.

He expressed his readiness to work collaboratively to safeguard the party’s cohesion, discipline, and direction.

The acting chairman urged NEC members to prioritize delivering good governance to Nigerians and strengthening democracy within the party’s structures.
