Armed police officers have taken control of Wadata Plaza, the headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja, as tensions rise ahead of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for today.
The police have restricted access to the secretariat, preventing even a member of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), Maina Chiroma, from entering the premises.

According to a party official who spoke off-camera to a Channels Television reporter, the police were deployed to prevent a proposed NEC Expanded Caucus Meeting.
While some party staff were initially allowed inside, they were later ordered to leave, and journalists were also asked to vacate the premises.
In addition to securing the building, police officers were seen cordoning off Dalaba Street, the road leading to Wadata Plaza.
