“My Friend Akpabio Should Beware”- Dele Momodu Reacts To Ganduje’s Resignation

Dele Momodu, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a publisher, has commented on recent developments within the All Progressives Congress (APC), suggesting that they indicate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is consolidating his power.

Writing on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday, Momodu advised key APC figures, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, to be cautious.

He implied that the ruling party’s internal structure might not guarantee long-term loyalty for its members.

Momodu specifically referenced the recent resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje as APC National Chairman, linking it to a broader pattern of shifting alliances and political expendability under the Tinubu administration.

He characterized Ganduje as someone who “took bullets for Tinubu” but whose relevance, in Momodu’s view, has now diminished.

“Like all lackeys, his usefulness has expired,” Momodu wrote, adding a direct warning: “My friend Akpabio should beware.”

He also highlighted speculation regarding Vice President Kashim Shettima’s political future, noting that such rumors are not unprecedented.

Momodu drew parallels to Tinubu’s tenure as Lagos State governor, alleging that similar political reshuffles affected several deputy governors.

He specifically cited former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode as a prime example, claiming Ambode was removed despite initial party support.

“What is happening to Vice President Shettima today is not new,”Momodu wrote.“Governor Ambode was the biggest casualty, and Governor Sanwo-Olu only narrowly escaped recently.”

Momodu argued that the centralization of power under Tinubu aligns with a long-standing pattern, cautioning that those who assume permanence in their roles might find themselves displaced when political conditions change.

“This current power structure is absolutely for Tinubu. No one should deceive themselves—no one is indispensable, and everyone is expendable when it becomes necessary,” he asserted.

He concluded with a veiled reference to political strategies prioritizing loyalty over longevity, adding, “The prince does not entertain competition. This is the season of Machiavelli. More victims will fall on the battlefield. No one is sacred.”
