The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has unequivocally stated that Rabiu Kwankwaso, their presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, will not be contesting on their platform in 2027.
This assertion was made in a statement signed by the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Agbo Major, on Saturday.
According to NAN, Major was responding to remarks made by Buba Galadima, who had claimed that Kwankwaso would remain with the NNPP and run for the presidency in 2027.

Galadima had also denied any plans for Kwankwaso to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
However, Dr. Major firmly countered that both Kwankwaso and Galadima have already been expelled from the NNPP.
He explicitly stated, “We cannot even allow Kwankwaso for whatever reason to return on the NNPP fold because of the problems and internal wranglings he created for us.”
Major further dismissed Kwankwaso’s 2027 ambition, adding, “He does not have the pedigree to match President Tinubu in any contest and so his ambition is dead on arrival.”
