Ogun Police Warn Against ‘777’ Cult Anniversary

The Ogun State Police Command has issued a public advisory cautioning residents about intelligence reports indicating that cult groups are allegedly planning an anniversary celebration, dubbed “777,” across the state.

In a statement released Sunday by Command spokesperson CSP Omolola Odutola, it was confirmed that security measures have been significantly reinforced across all police divisions and area commands in anticipation of potential unrest.

The Command declared that any efforts to organize unlawful gatherings, processions, or anniversary activities associated with cult groups will be met with immediate police intervention.

“The Command has reinforced security operations across all Divisions and Area Commands to ensure peace and public safety,” Odutola stated.

“Any attempt to stage unlawful gatherings, processions, or anniversary events linked to cultism will be met with swift and decisive police action.”

The police also urged parents and guardians to closely monitor their children and dissuade them from congregating in suspicious groups or loitering in public areas.

“Young people are strongly urged to avoid loitering or forming clusters in public places. Security operatives will not hesitate to disperse gatherings that raise suspicion or threaten public peace,” the statement added.

The Command further warned that anyone found in possession of firearms or other weapons during this period will face prosecution.

Odutola emphasized the police’s commitment to maintaining public order and encouraged residents to continue their lawful activities while cooperating with law enforcement agencies.
