The Minister advised applicants to beware of fraudsters, assuring a transparent process in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo also revealed that 224 personnel across these agencies faced disciplinary action for various infractions.

Sanctions included dismissals, compulsory retirements, warnings, loss of seniority, and rejected appeals, though some were exonerated.

The Nigerian Correctional Service accounted for 143 cases, the Nigeria Immigration Service had 31, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps 46, and the Federal Fire Service 4.

In addition to disciplinary measures, the CDCFIB approved the promotion of 95 senior officers across the four services. These promotions spanned ranks from Controllers and Commandants to Assistant Controllers General, with the highest advancements to Deputy Controllers General (DCGs).

Specifically:

  • Nigerian Correctional Service: 4 officers promoted from Assistant Controller General (ACG) to DCG, and 31 from Controller of Correction (CC) to ACG.
  • Nigeria Immigration Service: 6 officers promoted from ACG to DCG, and 20 from CC to ACG.
  • Federal Fire Service: 3 officers moved from ACG to DCG, and 22 were promoted from CC to ACG.

The Board also approved forming a committee to develop a Harmonized Scheme of Service for the four agencies under the ministry.
