What Will Happen If You Merge Atiku And Obi Against Tinubu And Shettima Ticket – Onanuga

Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, has asserted that a potential joint ticket featuring former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, would be insufficient to prevent President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Onanuga’s remarks, made on Thursday during an appearance on Arise TV’s ‘Prime Time’ program, come after reports that a broad opposition coalition has adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its political platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This coalition includes prominent figures such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and former Senate President David Mark, among others.

The presidential aide contended that President Tinubu’s achievements would speak for themselves in the upcoming elections, indicating that the All Progressives Congress (APC) does not perceive the newly formed coalition as a threat.

“They are free to form alliances but as far as the APC is concerned we are not seeing them as any threat…If you merge Peter Obi and Atiku together, there is no way the two of them can beat a Bola Tinubu and Shettima ticket. It is going to be impossible.

“They are jumping the gun, it is not yet time for politicking,” he said.
