Air Peace has confirmed that one of its aircraft, operating Flight P47190 from Lagos to Port Harcourt, experienced a runway excursion upon landing at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Sunday morning.
In a statement released by the airline’s spokesperson, Osifo-whiskey Efe, Air Peace clarified that the aircraft “veered slightly off the runway without any damage.”
The airline confirmed that all passengers on board disembarked “safely and calmly” with no injuries reported.

Air Peace reiterated its dedication to operational safety, concluding its statement by saying, “We reassure the flying public of our unflinching commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety in all our operations.”
This incident follows a previous event on May 11, when an Air Peace aircraft was grounded at the Asaba International Airport in Delta State after it collided with a large antelope while taxiing on the runway.
That impact destroyed the animal and rendered the aircraft inoperable, leading to flight disruptions.
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority’s Director of Public Affairs & Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, confirmed that while such events are beyond an airline’s control, they do not relieve operators of their responsibilities to passengers.
