A heavy atmosphere of sorrow and mixed emotions hung over Daura on Tuesday, as the town mourned the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The sky itself seemed to weep, releasing rain that soaked the soil of the quiet Katsina community, while loved ones gathered to bid him a final farewell.

In a deeply emotional moment, Buhari’s lifeless body—wrapped in the green-white-green of the Nigerian flag—was gently removed from its casket and laid to rest at precisely 5:50 p.m., surrounded by his grieving children, relatives, and close associates.
The burial was marked by full military honours, including gun salutes and ceremonial processions, in recognition of his role as a former Commander-in-Chief.
Prior to the interment, Islamic funeral rites were observed, in accordance with his faith and tradition.
