Farida Waziri, former Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has paid tribute to the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, emphasizing the significant role he played in her life.
In her condolence message issued on Wednesday in Abuja, Waziri noted that Buhari’s passing has deeply affected millions nationwide, serving as a reminder that a person’s legacy is defined by the values they steadfastly uphold.
Waziri lauded Buhari as a man whose life was “shaped by discipline, defined by incorruptibility, and anchored in an unwavering commitment to truth.”

Waziri specifically acknowledged his impact on her own life, revealing that under his leadership, her rightful retirement rank as Assistant Inspector General of Police was finally rectified—an act she believes “spoke volumes of his character.”
Waziri concluded by stating that while President Buhari has passed, his “legacy of moral strength and relentless anti-corruption crusade will echo through generations,” recognizing his commitment to truth and action.
She prayed that history remembers him kindly as a soldier, statesman, and above all, a man of integrity, and that his soul finds peaceful repose.
