US Introduces $250 Visa Integrity Fee For Non-Immigrant Applicants

The United States has implemented a new, mandatory $250 visa integrity fee for non-immigrant travelers, with no exceptions or waivers available.

This new fee is part of the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” recently passed by the Donald Trump administration. The bill also grants the Secretary of Homeland Security the authority to increase this fee.

Travelers may be eligible for a reimbursement of the fee if they fully comply with their visa conditions.

This includes not engaging in unauthorized employment, not attempting to extend their authorized stay, and departing the U.S. no later than five days after their permitted period expires.

Visitors who are granted lawful permanent residency status are also eligible for a refund, though specific claim procedures have not yet been detailed.

The fee will be collected only when a visa is issued, meaning applicants whose visa requests are denied will not be charged.
