His Royal Highness Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar, the Emir of Daura, has publicly stated that President Bola Tinubu remains the Daura Emirate’s favored candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
The monarch made this declaration on Saturday during a condolence visit by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to the family home of the late President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State.
The First Lady led a delegation of prominent women, including wives of National Assembly leaders, governors, ministers, and service chiefs.

During their visit to Hajia Aisha Buhari, the late President’s widow, the delegation offered prayers for Buhari’s soul and for strength for the bereaved family.
Senator Tinubu and her entourage also visited Buhari’s graveside for a brief prayer before proceeding to the residence of Alhaji Mamman Daura, the late President’s uncle and close confidant.
The First Lady eulogized the late Buhari as an “accomplished patriot” who brought pride to his family, hometown, state, and nation through his legacy of discipline, sacrifice, and national service.
Alhaji Mamman Daura expressed his appreciation for the First Lady’s visit, acknowledging it as a gesture of deep respect and solidarity.
At the Emir’s palace, Senator Tinubu extended condolences to the Emirate for the loss of one of its most revered sons.
In a clear show of support for the current administration, the Emir lauded President Tinubu’s leadership and assured the First Lady of Daura’s unwavering loyalty ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring, “President Tinubu is our choice for 2027. We remain solidly behind him and will continue to support his administration to succeed.”
