Ganduje Reacts As APC Appoints Yilwatda As His Replacement

Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the immediate-past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has formally congratulated Professor Nentawe Yilwatda on his emergence as the party’s new National Chairman.

In a statement he personally signed, Ganduje lauded Yilwatda’s appointment as “strategic” and well-timed, coming at a crucial juncture for the party.

The former Kano State governor expressed strong confidence in Yilwatda’s “capacity, intellect, maturity and administrative competence” to lead the APC forward.

Ganduje also commended the APC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and other party organs for ensuring a transparent and consensus-driven process that led to Yilwatda’s emergence.

He urged the new National Chairman to build upon the “solid foundations and legacies” established during his own tenure, just as he had built upon his predecessors’ efforts.

Ganduje also praised President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for their “statesmanlike roles and wisdom” in guiding the party through the leadership transition.

“Our President and Vice President have once again shown maturity and far-sightedness in the affairs of our great party,” Ganduje remarked, encouraging all stakeholders to rally behind the new leadership to deliver on the President’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.”

Furthermore, Ganduje called for full cooperation and support for the new chairman from the National Working Committee (NWC), NEC, state chapters, youth and women wings, and all other APC stakeholders, emphasizing that “unity, discipline, and loyalty must remain the cornerstone of the party” under the new leadership.

“As I bow out with a sense of fulfillment, I wish to assure Prof. Yilwatda of my unflinching support, counsel, and brotherly solidarity,” Ganduje stated, urging all party members to back him in consolidating the APC’s vision for a united, progressive, and inclusive political platform.

He concluded by pledging to continue offering his experience and guidance when needed, reaffirming his dedication to the party’s growth and Nigeria’s democratic development, and praying for divine wisdom, strength, and courage for Professor Yilwatda in his new role.
