The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has awarded Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) Honoris Causa degrees to several prominent Nigerians, including Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of President Bola Tinubu.
Wike and Senator Tinubu received their honorary degrees on Saturday during the university’s 50th Anniversary and 35th Convocation ceremony.

The convocation lecture for the event was titled ‘The Role of Universities in Nation Building’.
Other distinguished recipients of honorary degrees at the ceremony included Aminu Masari, Chairman of TETFund, and Umaru Fintiri, the Governor of Adamawa State.
