An Edo State High Court has ordered the remand of Pastor Simeon Okehielem, 38, of the Synagogue Prayers Ministry, in a correctional center.
He is accused of allegedly r@ping a married woman and engaging in s3xual relationships with other married women within his congregation.
The alleged offense took place in February 2022 in the Uholor community of Benin City, where Okehielem reportedly drugged and r@ped the woman, which resulted in the birth of a child.

Recent DNA test results reportedly confirmed the pastor as the biological father of the child, leading to his re-arrest and formal arraignment.
The state prosecutor, P.O. Odion, presented a two-count charge against Okehielem for r@pe and administering a stupefying substance with intent to commit a felony.
Odion informed the court that these offenses are punishable under Section 4 and Section 5(1) of the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Law, 2021, and Section 256 of the Criminal Law of Edo State, 2022.
The prosecution requested his remand pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The presiding judge, Justice Erhabor, accordingly remanded Pastor Okehielem for 14 days while awaiting legal advice from the DPP.
