Mrs. Majekodunmi, an experienced climate finance expert and environmental lawyer with over 17 years in the field, takes over from Dr. Nkiruka Madueke, who was the Council’s first head appointed in June 2024.

Majekodunmi has a strong background working with both international and national organizations on renewable energy, carbon markets, and climate governance.

Before this appointment, she served as the NCCC’s Financial Adviser, where she was instrumental in developing Nigeria’s climate policies and its participation in global climate initiatives.

President Tinubu thanked the outgoing Director-General, Dr. Madueke, for her “dedicated service and strong foundation for the Council’s continued growth.”
