Cow Attacks, Injures Staff At Government House Asaba

Panic erupted at the Delta State Government House in Asaba over the weekend after a cow, meant for slaughter, attacked and injured a staff member and a cook.

The cow went on a rampage, causing chaos and injuring several people.

One of the victims, a man in his 30s who tried to subdue the animal, was knocked down and severely injured.

A source reported that the victim sustained “deep wounds on his thighs” and was first rushed to the Government House Clinic for emergency care.

“Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to an undisclosed hospital where he is currently battling for his life,” the source disclosed.

Another victim, identified as Peter, a cook at the Government House, also sustained injuries.

The source added that the first two butchers called to slaughter the cow were unable to handle it and fled the scene.

The critically injured victim was reportedly the second person who was called to take over the task.
