Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has appealed to Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, to rejoin the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The governor suggested that a united front of opposition parties could create a formidable force to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next election.
Governor Mohammed made the plea during Obi’s visit to Bauchi on Friday, where he was touring health and educational institutions.

The governor praised Obi’s approach to politics, stating: “We are really delighted with the new brand of politics you are impacting in this country and particularly to the youth. This is a new way of life because politics should be domesticated.”
Mohammed noted that Obi’s approach is about “meeting the people, interacting with them as well as giving the leadership, the governors, wake-up calls.”
He added that despite their different political parties, he and Obi share a connection, emphasizing that “in politics, the two of us cannot meet without discussing anything about Nigeria, irrespective of the fact that we are in different political parties, we connect individually because politics cannot be played in isolation.”
