ADC Speaks On Claims Of Pursuing Northern Agenda

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has refuted claims that the party is working in the interest of the country’s northern region, calling the accusations “unfounded.”

Speaking on Channels Television, ADC spokesman Bolaji Abdullahi said the former presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu, who made the allegations “should be ashamed of himself.”

Abdullahi clarified that the ADC is a party for all Nigerians, stating: “it’s neither a party of the North nor of the South. It’s neither a party of Muslims nor of Christians. It’s neither a party for old people, so it’s a party that is deliberately designed to develop and build the kind of future that Nigeria desires.”

Kachikwu had alleged that the ADC, which was recently adopted by an opposition coalition for the 2027 elections, was part of a plot to return power to the northern region.

However, another ADC chieftain, Mani Ibrahim, reinforced the party’s position, stating that Kachikwu “is not a member of our party (ADC), he does not represent the party, and has no right to talk on behalf of the ADC.”

Abdullahi also accused the government of attempting to cause divisions within the party, stating that the ADC is aware of and working to counter such moves.
