President Bola Tinubu has approved the constitution of new boards for the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF).
The announcement, made by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, detailed the new appointments for both organizations.
Idris Olorunnimbe was named the Chairman of the NCC board. Dr. Aminu Wada will continue as the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
Other members include Executive Commissioners Abraham Oshidami (Technical Services) and Rimini Makama (Stakeholder Management), along with non-executive board members Hajia Maryam Bayi, Col Abdulwahab Lawal (retd.), Senator Lekan Mustafa, Chris Okorie, Princess Oforitsenere Emiko, and the board secretary.

The USPF board will be chaired by the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, with Idris Olorunnimbe serving as Vice Chairman.
Other members are Abraham Oshidami, Rimini Makama, Aliyu Edogi Aliyu (representing FMCIDE), Joseph B. Faluyi (representing the Federal Ministry of Finance), Auwal Mohammed (representing FMBNP), Uzoma Dozie, Peter Bankole, Abayomi Anthony Okanlawon, Gafar Oluwasegun Quadri, and the USPF secretary.
According to the Presidency, the USPF’s purpose is to facilitate national policy goals for universal access and service to information and communication technologies in “rural, unserved and underserved areas.”
