Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, has directed his supporters to vote for candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in tomorrow’s by-elections.
In a post on his X page yesterday, the former Anambra State governor explained that the decision was necessary because the LP has no candidates recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the ballot due to an “internal crisis.”

The post reads: “On the 16th of August 2025, Nigerians will go to the polling units again for the by-elections. This is expected to take place in the 16 states of the federation, with two senatorial, five House of Representatives and nine state assembly seats available for voting.
“Kindly note that the Labour Party has no candidates recognised by INEC due to the internal crisis.
“I humbly urge every member of the Obidient and COPDEM families to go out and vote for the coalition political party, the ADC, in their respective states.
“The struggle for Nigeria has started.

I, still stand my ground to say that even the COALITION PARTY cannot save Nigeria from its delema. I, still advise Mr Peter Obi to do away completely with the so called COALITION. I have surveyed the coalition with the political periscope and saw that the make ups are still the cancarworms that ate Nigeria to death. I wouldn’t like OBI to have any in common with them.
