Why Babachir Lawal Is Angry With Tinubu – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has claimed that former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, turned against President Bola Tinubu because he was allegedly overlooked for the vice-presidential position.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, Wike said that Lawal visited him in Port Harcourt after President Tinubu chose his running mate.

Wike said that he asked “What was his anger?” and then revealed that “His anger was that he thought Mr President would have chosen him as the vice-presidential candidate. Having not done that, he let loose.”

Wike also said that Lawal’s discontent was obvious, stating, “It was very clear, we are not kids. Even a child who is intelligent would know where your anger is.”

The minister also described Lawal’s recent criticisms of the Tinubu administration as disrespectful and advised him to address his concerns directly with the president.
