Tinubu Sacks NTA Boss, Appoints Rotimi Pedro As Replacement

President Bola Tinubu has sacked the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Abdul-Hameed Dembos, and appointed Rotimi Pedro as his replacement.

The appointments were announced in a statement on the official Presidency X account on Wednesday, and they take “immediate effect.”

According to the statement, Pedro, a Lagos indigene, has over 20 years of experience in broadcasting, sports rights, and media consulting.

The president also appointed Karimah Bello from Katsina as the Executive Director of Marketing, Stella Din from Plateau State as the Executive Director of News, and Sophia Mohammed as the Managing Director of NTA Enterprises Limited.

The president added that the appointments reaffirm his “commitment to strengthening national broadcasting as a platform for unity, cohesion, and soft diplomacy.”
