List Of States Predicted To Experience Thunderstorms, Rain On Friday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted thunderstorms and rain across the country from Friday to Sunday.

NiMet’s weather outlook, released on Thursday, provides a regional breakdown of the expected conditions.

Regional Forecast

  • Northern Region: On Friday morning, thunderstorms with moderate rain are expected over parts of Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Taraba, Zamfara, Sokoto, and Kaduna. Thunderstorms with moderate rain are anticipated over most parts of the region during the afternoon and evening.
  • Central Region: There are prospects of light rain over parts of Niger, Nasarawa, the Federal Capital Territory, Benue, Kogi, Kwara, and Plateau States. Thunderstorms with moderate rain are also expected in the afternoon or evening over Nasarawa, Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Niger, Plateau, and the Federal Capital Territory.
  • Southern Region: Cloudy skies are expected over the region with chances of light rain over parts of Oyo, Enugu, Imo, Abia, Akwa Ibom, Delta, and Cross River during the morning hours. Light rain is anticipated over parts of Ogun, Osun, Ekiti, Ondo, Oyo, Enugu, Imo, Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Delta, Lagos, Rivers, Bayelsa, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom during the afternoon or evening hours.
