Benue Lawmaker Dajoh Loses Brother After Resignation As Speaker

The immediate-past Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Aondona Dajoh, has confirmed the death of his elder brother, Gwamile Dajoh.

Dajoh confirmed the news at his Makurdi residence on Monday, stating that he was thankful to God despite the loss.

News of his brother’s passing became public on Monday, with sources claiming he died after collapsing just hours after learning of his sibling’s resignation as speaker.

While details remain unclear, family sources suggested that he had been deeply concerned about the recent political crisis in the state assembly.

Aondona Dajoh’s resignation from his position on Sunday paved the way for Alfred Berger to become the new speaker.

Following the news of his brother’s death, many of the former speaker’s political associates and friends visited his residence to offer their condolences.

The development has reportedly heightened the political tension in the state and left the Dajoh family in mourning.
