Jigawa Declares Public Holiday To Celebrate 34th Anniversary

The Jigawa Government has announced that Wednesday, August 27, 2025, will be a “work-free day” to mark the 34th anniversary of the state’s creation.

The announcement came in a statement signed by the State Head of Service, Alhaji Muhammad K Dagaceri.

The government extended its congratulations to all Jigawa indigenes and encouraged them to “pray for the State and Nigeria while celebrating the day.”

The statement also expressed the hope that “all public servants and the entire people of the state will utilise the one-day break in thanking the Almighty Allah for the blessing and peaceful co-existence.”

Jigawa was created from the former Kano State on August 27, 1991, by General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, who was then the Military President.
