Fubara Loses Local Government As RSIEC Announces Results Of LG Election In Rivers

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won 20 of the 23 local government areas in Saturday’s Chairmanship and Councillorship elections in Rivers State.

The state’s ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), won only three LGAs in the poll conducted by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC).

The RSIEC Chairman, Dr. Michael Odey, announced the results on Sunday in Port Harcourt.

The main opposition party in the state, the APC, also won the Opobo-Nkoro LGA, which is the local government of the state’s governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
