The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike yesterday hosted a meeting with some leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from across the country at his official residence in Abuja.

According to the minister, the purpose of the meeting is to “discuss issues centered around the state of the party and how to forge ahead.”

Notable attendees at the meeting include the PDP national secretary, Sam Anyanwu, and former governors of Abia and Benue State, Okezie Ikpeazu and Samuel Ortom.

The Minority Leader and Speaker of the 10th Rivers State House of Assembly, along with other members, were also present.

The meeting comes shortly after Wike warned that the PDP “risks self-destruction” if it attempts to bring former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, back into the party.
