Tinubu Recalls NTA DG, ED News, Reverses Fresh Appointments

President Bola Tinubu has ordered the reinstatement of the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Mr. Salihu Abdullahi Dembos, and the Executive Director of News, Mr. Ayo Adewuyi.

The directive, confirmed in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday, effectively reversed recent management changes at the state-owned broadcaster.

Both Dembos and Adewuyi had briefly vacated their offices due to the new appointments. They have now been directed to return and complete their three-year tenures, with Adewuyi’s scheduled to end in 2027.

The statement notes that the “new directive effectively reversed the previously announced appointments” for several top positions at the NTA.
