Award-winning Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, “has dismissed claims circulating on social media that he was slapped” during a recent outing in Warri, Delta State.
A viral video had shown the singer and his security, and a moment where he “appeared to have been struck on the head.”
The clip prompted a user on X.com, #AsakyGRN, to post, “Warri people no get joy oo. See dem sl@p Davido for head.”
Reacting on his official X handle on Monday, Davido “clarified that the incident was a misunderstanding,” explaining that his own security aide had “mistakenly hit him.”
He wrote, “Mumu that was my security .. hit me by mistake .. saddist,” to “put to rest the speculations” triggered by the viral video.
