Natasha Resumes Legislative Duties At Senate Office [VIDEOS]

The Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has resumed duties at her office in the National Assembly complex in Abuja.

The senator arrived around 12:30 p.m. with a crowd of supporters waving Nigerian flags.

Although security operatives at the main gate barred the supporters from entering and later dispersed them with teargas, Mrs. Akpoti-Uduaghan and a few of her aides were eventually allowed access into the building.

She proceeded to her office, located in Suite 2.05 of the Senate Wing, and “took her seat” just hours after the National Assembly management had unsealed it.

Addressing journalists, Mrs. Akpoti-Uduaghan declared she had no apologies to make and affirmed that she had resumed her duties.

She said, “I am actually worried as to what apology they expect from me. You cannot apologise for an injustice.”

The senator further claimed that the document that led to her illegal suspension, which was read by Senator Neda Imasuen, originated from the office of the Senate President.

She also stated, The signatures attached were merely attendance sheets, not endorsements. That makes the entire process fraudulent.

As of press time, the National Assembly management had not yet issued a formal statement on whether she has been “officially cleared to resume.
