Coalition Finally Picks Between ADC And ADA, Gives Directive To Obi, El-Rufai, Tambuwal

A coalition seeking to unseat President Bola Tinubu has finally settled for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), disassociating itself from the yet-to-be-registered All Democratic Alliance (ADA).

The resolution was reached at a meeting in Abuja on Thursday.

According to the coalition’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC asked its members, including Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Nasir El-Rufai of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and Senator Aminu Tambuwal of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to resign from their respective parties and fully come on board.

Abdullahi also disclosed that they had concluded their association with the ADA, saying, “The Coalition has rested everything concerning the ADA. That means, they are not interested in the registration or otherwise of the association.”

Among those who attended the meeting were National Chairman David Mark, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, National Secretary Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, former Kaduna State governor Nasir el-Rufai, former Sokoto State governor Senator Aminu Tambuwal, and former Rivers State governor Chibuike Amaechi.

Speaking on the upcoming 2027 election, Abdullahi said that the party’s presidential aspirants had agreed to support whoever wins the primaries.

He stated, “All the presidential aspirants have agreed to support whoever wins the primaries election.”

He also revealed that the National Working Committee (NWC) would soon announce dates for primaries in Osun and Ekiti ahead of the off-cycle governorship elections in both states.
