The Edo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Agun Gbenga, slumped and died on Thursday in Benin City.
Gbenga collapsed shortly after delivering a goodwill message at an event organized by the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) at the Bishop Kelly Pastoral Centre, Benin.

Efforts by attendees to revive the Commandant, who was among the personalities scheduled to receive awards at the event, proved abortive.
He was rushed to the Military Base Hospital in Benin, where he was ultimately confirmed dead.
