2Baba Speaks On ‘Arrest’ After Alleged Altercation With Natasha In UK

Music icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia has explained why he failed to perform at the first stop of his UK tour, a concert scheduled at 1 Mark Lane, London, opposite Fenchurch Street Station.

According to a flyer the artist posted on his Instagram Story on Thursday, the show was scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. and continue late into the night.

Despite eager fans buying tickets and trooping to the venue, 2Baba did not appear.

Following his no-show, speculation spread that the UK Police had arrested the 50-year-old star following an alleged altercation with his wife, Natasha Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly.

The Benue-born singer had announced his arrival in the UK with his wife on Thursday via Instagram to kick off the highly anticipated tour, which is packaged by Nero Experience and Nero Entertainment and has stops planned for Birmingham, Glasgow, Bristol, Chelmsford, Bournemouth, Sheffield, and Cardiff.

However, in a video posted on his Instagram page on Friday, where he appeared alongside his wife and others, 2Baba denied the reports of his arrest.

He clarified that he missed the London show due to a medical emergency, not any “run-in with the police.”

2Baba explained the situation to his fans: “First of all, I want to appreciate everybody who came out. We had a medical emergency, and it was tough.”

He promised to reschedule the event, adding: “So, to the organisers and everybody that came out there, we will regroup and make something very beautiful happen. And if you don’t know something, please don’t talk about it,” the singer noted.

2Baba and his wife held their private traditional wedding in July at Signature House, Abuja.

Since tying the knot, the couple has continued to be seen together on several occasions, “serving relationship goals” as they did prior to their marriage.
