President Bola Tinubu has appointed Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, to chair the National Steering Committee for the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme (RHWDP).
The RHWDP is a key initiative designed to strengthen social protection, accelerate economic activities, and improve livelihoods at the grassroots level.
According to a statement released by the NGF Secretariat, the President appointed the following leaders and members to the committee:
- Chairman: Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara/NGF Chairman)
- Vice Chairman: Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu (Minister of Budget and Economic Planning)
The committee also includes governors representing all six geopolitical zones:

Reflecting the urgency of the mandate, the committee held its inaugural meeting on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the Nigeria Governors’ Forum Secretariat in Abuja.
The meeting, chaired by Governor AbdulRazaq, signified a major step toward putting President Tinubu’s ward-based development strategy into action across all 8,809 wards in Nigeria.
