The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has temporarily removed several top officials, including the National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade; the National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu; the Deputy Legal Adviser, Okechukwu Osuoha; and the National Organizing Secretary, Umaru Bature.
The suspension for these officials is set to last for one month.

This punitive action by the NWC came immediately after a court issued a ruling that effectively “halted the party’s planned national convention.”
The decision was officially disclosed to the press by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba. Mr. Ologunagba, while addressing reporters, stated that the suspension was the result of an “emergency NWC meeting held on Saturday” at the party’s Abuja office, which is located in Maitama at the Legacy House.
He stated, “The NWC, in line with the party’s constitution, came to the following conclusion: the National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN); Deputy Legal Adviser, Okechukwu Osuoha; National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu; and National Organizing Secretary have been suspended for one month and referred to the PDP Disciplinary Committee.”
