A coalition of “civil society organizations” has unveiled Team Tinubu 2027, a citizen-driven political campaign movement “committed to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
The group officially endorsed the re-election of President Tinubu in 2027 at a press conference held at the ZEUS Centre in Abuja on Wednesday.
The motion for the endorsement was moved by Maj. Gen. Charles Airhiavebere (Rtd.), the Director of National Security and Intelligence, and was seconded by the co-convener and Director of Contact and Mobilization, Hon. Agune James Malu.

Speaking at the press conference, Director of Civil Society Groups, Team Tinubu 2027, Lokoyere Geoffrey, stated the event was not “merely another political announcement but a declaration of purpose, a statement of collective will, and a call to action.”
He emphasized the movement’s nature: “We are here to tell the Nigerian people, and indeed the world, that Team Tinubu has arisen — not as a mere campaign structure, but as a national movement of conscience, driven by the belief that Nigeria’s destiny can and must be shaped by the active participation of its citizens.”
Geoffrey explained that Team Tinubu is a broad-based coalition of “patriotic Nigerians — professionals, artisans, women, youth, community leaders, and civic advocates — drawn from every region, faith, and background.”
He added that “What unites us is not politics for its own sake, but the conviction that good governance, economic stability, and social justice are achievable under visionary and inclusive leadership.”
Geoffrey asserted that civil society must move beyond mere advocacy, describing it as “the heartbeat of democracy, the conscience of governance, and the bridge between the people and power.”
He stressed that “For too long, this space has been underutilized in shaping national political direction. Today, we are changing that narrative.”
Team Tinubu aims to build an organized civil society front that will not only support the re-election of President Tinubu but also “ensure that the administration’s policies and programs reach citizens at the grassroots.”
Geoffrey stated the movement was motivated by the president’s leadership style, describing him as “courageous, reform-minded, and resilient.”
He observed that “In just over two years, we have witnessed President Tinubu’s bold economic restructuring, efforts to stabilize the polity, rebuild institutions, and strengthen Nigeria’s international standing. The Renewed Hope Agenda is gradually taking root.”

While acknowledging that nation-building “requires persistence, patience, and partnership,” he stated that Team Tinubu “is stepping forward to serve as a bridge between government and the governed, leadership and citizenship, and between the promise of reform and the people it seeks to empower.”
The group urged Nigerians to “shun apathy” and participate actively, declaring: “Democracy thrives when citizens participate, not spectate. This is not the time for indifference or cynicism. It is the time for renewed hope, renewed commitment, and renewed action.”
Geoffrey concluded by calling upon every group that believes in democracy, peace, accountability, and progress “to join us in this great journey of consolidating governance gains and building a Nigeria that works for everyone.”
In his own remarks, Agune James Malu said, “Team Tinubu 2027 today announces its unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration, citing his commitment to economic stability, national security, and social progress.”
The group concluded that this declaration “underscores our belief that president Tinubu is the right leader to guide this nation through its challenges and secure a prosperous future.”
Hon. Malu added: “We are proud to stand with president Tinubu, we have particularly impressed by the administration’s effect in implementing infrastructure projects, strengthening international relations, and promoting technological innovation. This is a testament to the president vision and dedication to serving all Nigerian.”
