Tinubu To Visit Three States

President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to leave Abuja on Saturday for a three-state tour covering Borno, Bauchi, and Lagos.

According to a statement released Friday by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the visit to Borno State will involve official duties and social engagements.

The statement noted that “President Tinubu will commission some projects undertaken by Governor Babagana Zulum and the Federal Government.”

Additionally, the President will attend the wedding of Sadeeq Sheriff—the son of former Governor Ali Modu Sheriff—and Hadiza Kam Salem.

The President’s itinerary then moves to the northeast neighbor, Bauchi. “From Maiduguri, the President will move to Bauchi to condole with the Government of Bauchi State and the family of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, the late renowned Muslim cleric and leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood,” the statement detailed. The respected cleric passed away on November 27.

The final leg of the trip will take the President to the nation’s commercial capital. The presidency confirmed that after the condolence visit, President Bola Tinubu will leave for Lagos, where he will spend the upcoming end-of-year holidays.

A highlight of his time in Lagos will be the Eyo Festival on December 27, where “He is expected to be the guest of honour at the Eyo Festival scheduled for December 27, among his numerous engagements while in the city.”

The festival, taking place at Tafawa Balewa Square, will pay tribute to several icons, including the President’s late mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, and former governors Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Chief Michael Otedola.
