Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has been released from police custody after being detained for two days.
Ogala regained her freedom on Monday, December 22, 2025, following her arrest on Saturday. The detention was linked to a series of allegations involving Chris Okafor, the founder of Grace Nation Ministry.
The actress confirmed her release in an Instagram post on Monday, which followed significant social media pressure from Nigerians and online personalities calling for her freedom.

In a show of gratitude, Ogala thanked human rights activist Omoyele Sowore and social media figure VeryDarkMan for their roles in her release.“Thank you, Sowore. Thanks so much to my ratel king,” she wrote in the post.
The legal and public drama began weeks ago after footage of Okafor’s engagement to another woman went viral.
In response, Ogala claimed she had been in a romantic relationship with the cleric since 2017, even alleging she ended her previous marriage at his request.
She accused the pastor of betrayal after years of intimacy and promises of marriage. Ogala eventually issued an ultimatum, demanding he either marry her or pay for a house as financial compensation.
Despite these claims, images from Okafor’s traditional and white wedding ceremonies began circulating online last Wednesday.
The conflict reached a boiling point last Friday when Ogala shared—and later deleted—a photo purportedly showing Okafor topless in a bedroom with only a towel around his waist.
