The Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Benibo Anabraba, has officially resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party.
His decision was formalized in a letter dated January 5, 2026, which was sent to the PDP Chairman of Ward 1 in the Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of the state.
Regarding the motivation behind his departure, the letter noted that Anabraba said his decision to leave the main opposition party was “personal.”

During his exit, he also expressed appreciation for the political leverage gained from the party during the period of my membership.
