Bayelsa Governor Mourns Senator Brambaifa

Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has on Monday, expressed sadness over the demise of Senator John Kojo-Brambaifa.

Brambaifa, who represented the Bayelsa West Senatorial District in the 5th National Assembly, passed away on Saturday in an Abuja hospital at the age of 81.

In a condolence message released by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, the governor characterized Brambaifa as an illustrious son of the state and an astute politician who excelled in public service.

“Bayelsa and Nigeria have lost an elder statesman, amiable gentleman, astute politician and a great community leader.

“Brambaifa left a legacy of unblemished and committed service to Nigeria, the old Rivers State, Bayelsa and indeed his community.

“On behalf of the Government of Bayelsa State, I extend sincere condolences to the Brambaifa family and the Agbere community in Sagbama Local Government Area, where he hailed from,” he said.

The governor encouraged the bereaved family and the community to find comfort in Brambaifa’s meritorious service and significant political career.

Before his passing, the Senator served as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture in Bassambiri.

He was also a former Chairman of the Sagbama Local Government Council in the old Rivers State and a past Chairman of the Bayelsa State Board of Internal Revenue.
