The Federal High Court in Abuja has issued a comprehensive interim forfeiture order covering a massive ₦213,234,120,000 portfolio linked to former Attorney-General Abubakar Malami (SAN) and his sons, Abdulaziz and Abiru-Rahman.
Justice Emeka Nwite, granting the order following an EFCC motion, stated, “It is hereby ordered that an interim order of this honourable court is hereby made forfeiting to the Federal Government of Nigeria the properties described in Schedule 1 below which are reasonably suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activities.”
The court has given any interested parties 14 days from the date of national publication to show cause why the assets should not be permanently forfeited, adjourning the report of compliance to January 27, 2026.
In Abuja, the list features the Rayhaan University and several high-profile commercial and residential assets.
These include a luxury duplex on Amazon Street, Maitama, purchased in December 2022 for ₦500 million and now valued at ₦5.95 billion, and a large two-winged building on Onitsha Crescent, Garki, formerly known as Harmonia Hotels, acquired in 2018 for ₦7 billion.

Also seized are the 53-room Meethaq Hotels in Jabi, bought for ₦1.15 billion in 2020 and now valued at ₦8.4 billion, and a 15-room Meethaq Hotel in Maitama worth ₦12.95 billion.
Residential holdings include terraces in Asokoro bought for ₦360 million, a ₦325 million property on Yakubu Gowon Crescent, a ₦136 million house in Bua Estate, a ₦120 million home in Efab Estate, and twin houses in the Apo Legislative Quarters purchased in 2017 for ₦250 million.
Commercial assets in the capital include a ₦120 million shop in Wuse II, two shops in Vegas Mall worth ₦158 million, and warehouse shops in Wuse Market purchased for ₦50 million.
The forfeiture extends heavily into Kebbi State, particularly through the Rayhaan brand and family residences.
The Rayhaan University permanent site is valued at ₦56 billion, while the temporary site is recorded at ₦37.8 billion. Other Rayhaan-linked assets include a ₦4.2 billion factory building, ₦10.5 billion in factory machinery, a ₦2.45 billion mosque, and ₦1.48 billion staff quarters.
The family’s direct presence in Birnin Kebbi is highlighted by Abubakar Malami’s own GRA house valued at ₦350 million, a ₦1.65 billion house for his eldest son, Abdulaziz, and a ₦2.98 billion residence for his second son, Abiru-Rahman.
Further assets include the Azbir Hotel valued at ₦10.3 billion, 100 hectares of land along the Jega Road purchased for ₦100 million, and a ₦11.2 billion model academy.
In Kano and Kaduna, the properties are similarly substantial, including the 131-room Zeennoor Hotel in Kabuga Satellite Town valued at ₦11.2 billion and a ₦2.2 billion Rayhaan Hotel in Kano.
The schedule also lists a ₦982 million house belonging to Malami’s wife on Ahmadu Bello Way, a ₦300 million property in Nasarawa GRA, and a plot on Lamido Crescent.
In Kaduna, a four-bedroom bungalow with boys’ quarters in Abakpa GRA was seized, having been purchased in 2018 for ₦40 million.
These civil forfeiture proceedings run alongside a separate criminal trial where Malami and his family are facing charges for an alleged ₦8.7 billion money laundering scheme
